Cynthia Figura, Dyslexia Therapist

My Journey Through the Science of Reading

Hello there! I am a certified academic language therapist and dyslexia teacher with a decade of experience in public schools. I’m on a mission to make a positive impact on education, particularly in the realm of dyslexia and reading challenges.

Passionate Educator and Advocate

Teaching isn’t just a job for me; it’s a calling. For the past 12 years, I’ve been dedicated to unraveling the mysteries of language and learning, especially when it comes to dyslexia. My goal is to spread awareness and foster understanding about the unique challenges faced by individuals with dyslexia in our schools.

Champion for Mental Health and Social-Emotional Skills

I believe in nurturing not only academic abilities but also the mental well-being of every student. My passion extends beyond literacy; I’m a vocal advocate for mental health awareness and the importance of social-emotional skills in education. These skills form the foundation for a lifetime of learning and resilience.

Problem Solver and Lifelong Learner

I love solving problems and digging into the intricacies of how people learn. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow, both for myself and those I have the privilege of teaching. I’m committed to staying on the cutting edge of educational research and techniques to ensure the best possible outcomes for my students.

Nature Enthusiast and Animal Lover

When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll likely find me immersed in the beauty of nature. I’m a firm believer in the power of quiet alone time outdoors for reflection and rejuvenation. Nature is my sanctuary, and I find that some of my best thinking happens when surrounded by the tranquility it offers. Plus, I’m an unabashed animal lover—there’s something incredibly grounding about connecting with the natural world.

Join Me in the Journey

Whether you’re a fellow educator, a parent, or someone curious about dyslexia and education, I invite you to join me on this journey. Let’s collaborate, learn, and create a more inclusive and empathetic educational landscape together.

Thank you for being a part of this community!

Warm regards,

Cyndi
